This delicious smoked salmon is sourced from waters off the West Coast of Scotland and smoked in our own kilns for 12-18 hours using highest quality wood chip and saw dust, giving it a flavour which we are famous for.

D cut Sliced- The best way to buy our smoked salmon if entertaining. Sliced from the back to the belly giving D shape slices.

Smoked Salmon Salad

Ingredients:

  • 8C Salad Greens
  • 6oz Honeywilya smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 2 T fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 medium cucumber, halved and thinly sliced
  • 4 Radishes, halved and thinley sliced
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-5 T Lemonette dressing

Method

1. In a large bowl, toss together the greens, salmon, dill, cucumber, radishes and scallions. Just prior to serving, add the dressing and toss gently to coat.

Unsliced smoked salmon sides ... a disappointment.

Having previously bought the sliced sides, I thought I would try the slightly cheaper unsliced option. I bought two unsliced sides, and was regrettably disappointed with both. They were exceptionally oily, very heavily, probably over smoked with an unusually thick surface crust from the smoking process. Their was nothing subtle about either the taste or texture. We usually share the scraps of the smoked salmon with the cut which he relishes. In this case the scraps remained untouched in his bowl for two days before we threw it out. I would like to think that this was just part of an over smoked batch.

Latest order of smoked salmon side as good as ever. We slice it ourselves and get 6 or 7 x 100g portions for the freezer. Defrosts perfectly. Works out much better value (and infinitely better flavout/texture) than supermarket smoked salmon.
