Locally sourced hare, prepared and dressed in house. Wild hare is a dark gamey meat that is hugely underrated.
Hares can be cooked in a variety of ways with 'jugging' being the most popular. This is where the whole hare is cut into pieces, marinated and cooked with red wine and juniper berries in a tall jug which stands in a pan of water. Jugged hare is traditionally served with the hare's blood and port wine.
**Please note that due to the Preservation of Hares Act 1892 we cannot supply any hare or hare meat beetween 1st March and 31st July inclusive**
